* Every Fall, I always seem to come face to face with the pumpkin spice donut stand either at the fair or local farm. So I have to have my own version, of course! These can never be the same, but they make a very nice substitute! Recipe makes 6 standard size baked donuts.
- 1 cups (120 grams) Truly AIP All-Purpose Baking Mix
- 1/3 cup pureed pumpkin
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/8 tsp. ground mace
Mix all ingredients well and spoon or pipe batter into a lightly greased standard size donut pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-21 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven, allow to cool for a few minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool. Frost with maple cinnamon frosting, if desired. Or brush tops with oil and sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and maple sugar or coconut sugar.
Maple Cinnamon Frosting
- 2 Tbsp tapioca or arrowroot starch
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
